Towel Kits

We have been getting lots of requests from folks after our appearance at Maker Faire in NYC. That is great. This is the deal on our inventory, kits and instructions.

1- We shot a “making a deck” video. It covers the most complex part of creating the Towel. More later in the week.

2- We don’t have enough inventory to do mail order in a timely fashion. It would be 2-4 weeks time, sort of like the pre-internet days–it will be $160 + shipping if you don’t mind the wait.

3- If you want the foamy bits, coroplast, zip ties etc. then we will mail you that gear for $20 + shipping.

4- If you want to build with us in Williamsburg, Brooklyn or pickup kits then that will be faster. We will be making another set of larger orders this week. Parts will show up 2-3 weeks.

5- There is a faster cheaper option: We do have the parts lists from our supplier Hobby King. Here is a link to what we sell, with shipping it will be about $100 for all the gear. We strongly recommend that you buy spare servos (2), props(5) and batteries (around 3).

Parts List

Parts total to $67 (be sure to get at least 2 servos). Shipping is around $35. You will still need to get foam etc…

6- Reminder that we are teaching a class at 3rd Ward, October 26, register by October 21 with
$150 materials (the kit) and $100 fee.

7- Stay tuned for monthly build/fly dates.

Alot of the items are sold out at hobby king, but there are other choice that cost nominally more – can you make any recommendations for good alternatives to the default kit that are not sold out?

specifically the following components are back-ordered:
    1. Towerpro combo
    2. polymax gold connectors
    3. turnigy micro servos
    4. hobby king USB cables

Hobby King has issues with being out of stock. Sorry, out of our control.
Just do the order and be patient. Don’t have the resources to suggest alternatives
at remotely the same price point.

Hobby King is out of the Hobby King 2.4Ghz 6Ch Tx USB Cable for Win2000/XP

Can you tell me what connectors are being used and a wiring diagram I’m a electronic tech and can make that part.

Also can you recommend a supplier for the servos as well since there out of that too

What is the average time you get out of the Rhino 1750mAh 2S 7.4v 20C Lipoly Pack

I have no idea what the proper replacement cable is. You can check the threads on rcgroups.com
about this transmitter and the USB cable.

As for out of stock issues, just hit google and see what you can find. rchotdeals.com has been a good
supplier in the past. Not as cheap. If you find a good deal please let us know.

We get around 6-7 min at full throttle.

    Check out Grayson Hobby.
They have some good deals on motor/speed controller combos and they ship fast from the US.

  4. Stacey Says:

Great website. Are you still selling the $20 kits? If so, how can I order one? Thanks.

    • brooklynaerodrome Says:

Yes, some sort of short kit will be available either through us or Maker Shed. Give us until May 1 to sort this out.
      Thanks
